Target Audience

This activity is designed specifically for oncologists and other health professionals practicing in community settings, including those who serve geographically diverse populations.

Program Overview

Significant advancements in multiple myeloma treatment have occurred in recent years, resulting in improved survival and quality of life for many patients. However, the condition remains incurable, and treatment resistance and disease relapse persist despite multiple lines of therapy. In community oncology settings, significant disparities in access to advanced therapies and outcomes are common, resulting in lower clinical trial participation, long travel distances to specialty treatment centers, and limited access to oncology specialists. In this on-demand CME/CE activity, expert faculty will review recent clinical trial evidence and guideline recommendations for the treatment of relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma. The program will also highlight ways to improve adverse event monitoring, patient-clinician communication, and patient education in community-based settings.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

• Differentiate current and emerging therapies for relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma by mechanism of action, route of administration, and clinical rationale for use
• Evaluate recent clinical evidence and guideline recommendations for treating relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma
• Apply effective strategies to monitor for and manage adverse events associated with therapies for relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma
