Target Audience

This activity is designed specifically for oncology nurses, nurse practitioners, and other nursing professionals who provide cancer care in community and non-academic settings.

Program Overview

Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) accounts for up to 85% of all lung cancer cases, with a 5-year relative survival rate of approximately 7% among patients with advanced or metastatic disease. Although advances in therapy have led to substantial improvements in overall survival, declines in mortality have been less pronounced in rural versus urban areas. Fortunately, oncology nurses play a key role in improving management in these populations, particularly in community-based settings where patients face oncology workforce shortages and long travel distances to larger cancer facilities. In this on-demand CE activity, expert faculty will discuss the latest treatment approaches for advanced NSCLC and important nursing considerations for care. The program will also highlight monitoring and management strategies for treatment-related adverse events and approaches to enhance education and communication with patients.

The content for this enduring activity was recorded during a live webinar on March 28, 2026.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  • Evaluate the efficacy and safety of the latest treatment approaches for patients with advanced NSCLC in the first- and second-line treatment setting
  • Implement evidence-based monitoring and management strategies for treatment-related adverse events associated with immunotherapies, targeted therapies, and antibody-drug conjugates for NSCLC
  • Use patient-centered strategies to improve education and communication with patients with advanced NSCLC
