Target Audience

This activity is designed specifically for nurse practitioners, nurses, and other nursing professionals who provide cancer care to patients from rural and underserved communities. 

Program Overview

Oncology nurses are at the forefront of managing patients with lung cancer, from initial diagnosis to treatment and ongoing monitoring. In rural and underserved communities where access to healthcare resources can be limited, their expertise is particularly vital in ensuring timely, effective care. This case-based CE activity will provide oncology nurses with the knowledge and skills to optimize management of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), including adhering to guideline-recommended treatment regimens, conducting ongoing assessments, and monitoring for potential side effects. As learners are guided through potential clinical scenarios, they will gain valuable insights into strategies that can improve outcomes and enhance their ability to provide comprehensive support throughout the course of treatment.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:  

• Describe current and emerging therapies for patients with advanced NSCLC
• Apply best practices for identifying, monitoring, and managing adverse events associated with therapies for NSCLC
