Target Audience
This activity is designed specifically for oncologists and other health professionals practicing in community settings, including those who serve geographically diverse populations.
Program Overview
Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapies have transformed the treatment of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) that relapses after two or more lines of therapy. However, patients in geographically diverse communities often face barriers to accessing specialized oncology care and complex treatments such as CAR T-cell therapy. These barriers—including shortages of oncology specialists and cancer centers, long travel distances, poverty, and inadequate insurance coverage—can delay treatment, reduce quality of care, and lead to poorer outcomes. Early identification and timely referral of eligible patients to CAR T-cell therapy are critical, as disease progression on prior therapies may render patients ineligible for this treatment option. This on-demand CME/CE activity will review updated eligibility criteria for CAR-T therapies in NHL and the use of interprofessional and patient-centered strategies to improve timely referral. Expert faculty will also share strategies for identifying and managing adverse events and best practices for individualizing care in patients with NHL.
This enduring activity is a recorded session from Oncology Congress that took place on June 13, 2026.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
- Identify disease- and patient-specific factors that can help determine which patients with NHL may benefit from earlier treatment with CAR T-cell therapy
- Apply the latest clinical evidence on CAR T-cell therapies to individualize treatment decision-making for patients with NHL
- Integrate collaborative strategies to coordinate post-infusion care for patients receiving CAR T-cell therapy and effectively manage adverse events associated with CAR T-cell therapy
